Tallinn Gifs

This post is about showing the mood of Tallinn in December with gifs and video material.

I have wanted to do more gifs and videos lately, because I like editing videos. The quality of my video material is only Samsung Galaxy S5’s level, so I’m not taking too seriously making short clips, but just to get to edit videos again. It would be cool to get some video material to edit and make video with script again. I haven’t thought to write video manuscripts and shooting the material for it by myself just now, but maybe later.

First gif on page is shot on terrace of restaurant Manna La Roosa, what is the green wood house. Next three gifs are from Tallinn Christmas Market on Raekoja Plats in Old Town. Christmas Market is there every year from the last weeks of November to Epiphany in January.

Last two small gifs are from Vana-Varu, the street in Old Town. Äripank, bank building got beautiful Christmas lights covering the facade and Deja Vu restaurant opposite to Äripank had flickering Christmas present light decoration in their window. All gifs are 3-4x faster videos.

Ice Skaters Video

I shot a short clip from tourists trying ice skating in Old Town. Nearly all ice skaters had black clothes and ice skates on rent were bright orange, what looked good in video. The big building, what can be seen a little time on background is Art Museum of Estonia. I did some effects to the clip, what is made just for fun. 😛

Sushi Cat

Nearly every other time I visit in Tallinn, I go to eat sushi in small pink sushi restaurant Sushi Cat. It’s decoration style is Japanese Manga and Pop Culture and visiting there feels easy going, fresh and service is quick and friendly. Sushi Cat is situated in Tatari, district next to Old Town to the South.

I did stop motion gif from the dish I ate by taking photo after every sushi bite I ate. Stop motion photos like this are often taken with camera on stand, but taking photos manually with the mobile made the gif to be more lively. The portion in the gif is Spice Cat.

December is “a month of shopping”. I took photos from display windows in Stockholm and I share them to say a couple of words.

I’m still working for one own project around the big amount of photos what I took when I visited in Stockholm about a month ago. I have done blog posts, videos and shared things in social media at the same time I’m working for a bigger project, so getting it finished takes a longer time, but I want to keep things updated for you.

I have worked many years as salesperson and decorations in display windows is thing what I watch with the professional eye. It is part of the marketing and the brand image. I found many displays in Stockholm with personal, warm and artistic touch in the windows of smaller shops. One of Swedish ready-to-wear fashion brands Acne Studios, what have stores around the world had artistic neon light installations in their windows without any items they sell on display. It looked cool, but it’s also brave thing to do because customers have to get in the store to see what they are selling at the moment. Acne Studios affords to do so.

I finally also added Facebook and Twitter share buttons in the end of the post, so please share the posts from now on if you liked them.
